イベント構造と日本語の(語彙的)アスペクト複合動詞

要旨

Among the so-called Japanese V-V compounds are those dubbed “lexical aspectual compounds” by Kageyama (2013), with properties that do not parallel the typical right-head compounds. The second verbal constituent of these compounds lacks thematic roles and contributes only the aspectual information. This squib will discuss the aspectual function of the second verbal constituent in light of the interpretation of the event described and that of the internal argument of the first constituent. It will present a preliminary analysis of aspectual V-V compounds formed via incorporation of heads of the phrases representing the subevents such as process and result.
