CALL環境を利用した「ボキャブラリー・ビルディング」の授業

要旨

The purpose of this paper is to show some observations on "Vocabulary Building" focused on the students' motivation in a CALL environment. Recently, it is said that both teachers and students have become computer literate and use computers to do meaningful and productive work in language teaching or language learning. It is true that e-mails and browsing the Website have become quite usual in our daily lives these days ; however, it seems that they haven't made the most use of computers in class so far. Using computers in language learning tends to make students passive. They should be active learners in this situation. The computers and language laboratories must be used just as tools to accomplish active learners' purposes. The aim of some meaningful approaches used in "Vocabulary Building" class is to allow students to be interactive in learning vocabularies.
