CALL利用における日本語、英語教授法実践報告

要旨

Computer-assisted language learning (CALL) has widely been utilized in language education and frequently been written about in many professional journals. But yet, Japanese educators have written about it in their field of expertise whereas English educators have done the same in theirs ; hence, the collaboration between them has rarely been done on the topic. Here, in this article, Yoshida and Masuyama, teaching English and Japanese languages respectively, will explain how they have been utilizing CALL in their language classes and what they have been teaching in them and eventually learn from each other's classes in order to teach a more effective CALL course. According to them, they both agree that an instructor's active and interactive involvement with his her students in class is the key to teaching an effective CALL class because, as the response to handed-in questionnaire indicates, students tend to sit in front of a computer and self-study for an entire class period unsatisfactorily in ordinary CALL courses.
