要旨

In 2024, significant document fragments from the early Christian （Kirishitan） era came to light in the Toulouse Library. They were used as reinforcing materials for a Jesuit mission press, Manuale ad Sacramenta （Nagasaki, Japan, 1605）. The materials were detached during restoration in 1991. Of these document fragments, this paper concentrates on the manuscript of the Vocabulário da Lingoa de Iapam（ the Japanese-Portuguese dictionary, printed in Nagasaki, from 1603 to 1604） and a leaf of Agnus Dei no kuriki no shidai （Virtues of Agnus Dei） probably printed in 1591, Kazusa, Japan. These Toulouse document fragments are the sole surviving materials of the compilation process of the early Christian Missionary dictionaries. Five document fragments exist in this category, istinguished by the stages referring to the printing of the Vocabulário. 1． the stage before printing of the main part.（fragment 01） 2． the stage after printing the main part, and before the printing of the supplement to the main part.（06, 07, 08, 11） This paper clarifies the compilation process of the Vocabulário based on the analysis of these document fragments. The newly appeared printed leaf in Japanese（1591, Kazusa, Japan） gives one of the earliest examples of printing Kanji/Kana movable types of the Jesuits in Japan. It explains the efficacy of the devotional object Agnus Dei. A printed leaf（1585） with parallel Portuguese content exists in the Portuguese National Library. The text was handed down as a prayer among the Japanese hidden Christians in Sotome, Goto （Nagasaki, Japan） and Amakusa（Kumamoto, Japan） until modern times.
