読みの流暢さを育てる

要旨

The purpose of this paper is two-fold : (1) to investigate how critical it is to develop reading fluency in English as a second or foreign language through the overview of relevant research, and (2) to propose some specific ways to develop reading fluency. For the past years repeated reading has extensively been studied and consequently deemed as a promising method to develop reading fluency among poor readers of English as a first language and a second foreign language as well. This paper aims to make some useful suggestions for implementing repeated reading in reading courses or other supplementary reading activities for the purpose of building reading fluency among second foreign language readers.
