要旨

There exists no particular course design for teaching Japanese as a foreign /second language, because learners vary in several aspects.As a result, those who teach Japanese as a foreign /second language need to have the ability to plan a course design.In the prosess of designing, when we determine the curriculum, we decide to utilize the particular materil(s) for teaching.Mataerials are not chosen at the beginning of designing.Sometimes, textbooks are called to be 'main materials'.However,textbooks are not the only material at present.Language is considered to exisit for communication.And we must give lessons in order that learners obtain communicative competence.One of the factors to influence whther or not we succeed in teaching Japanese as a foreign /second language is material(s) to be used.Therefore, we must check whether or not the material(s) concerned is consistent with views on the nature of Japanese language teaching.We must evaluate the material (s) not only directly but also in the course of designing.
