【原著論文】現代日本語形容詞の語構成について

要旨

For this article 458 adjectives of different length were collected from ten novels, including Ukigumo （Floating Clouds）, which is said to be the first modern novel in Japan, and attempted to discuss their word formation. Firstly, I described the correlation between the theory of word composition and the theory of word structure in word formation. This paper argues that the emphasis should be placed on word structure theory, when discussing word formation. Secondly, the word formation of modern adjectives was analyzed and examined for compound elements and modes. Finally, the semantic relationships in the composition of compound adjectives were investigated while comparing them with the semantic relationships of compound nouns.
