ソウル大学蔵『源氏物語』須磨巻の翻刻と考察(上)：漢字使用率と本文の系統

要旨

This paper is the first part in a two-part series. In this series, the first part of the Suma volumes of “Genji Monogatari”, housed in the central library of the Seoul National University were reprinted and its characteristics examined. This reprinting of the Seoul National University collection “Genji Monogatari” represents the first time this collection has been introduced to the Japanese academic community. The Suma volumes, which contain more writings than any other volumes, were examined to determine their characteristics, kanji usage rate, and the lineage of the text. This study revealed that the words contained in the Suma volumes were identical to those contained in the collection of Nihon University's “Genji Monogatari” (also known as the Sanjo Nishike Books). However, while the text of the Seoul collection contained a mixture of both kanji and kana, the Nihon University collection was written mainly in hiragana. Another finding was that there are many parts in the Suma volumes where Hiragana is replaced with Kanji and the usage rate of this Kanji was found to be 19.1%. Based on these above features, it is clear that the Seoul National University collection of “Genji Monogatari” had value in the Edo period as a book for self-learning.
