要旨
Although Chinese-speaking learners of Japanese generally have an advantage in learning Japanese due to the existence of Sino-Japanese words, there are cases in which subtle differences between the two languages cause difficulty to Chinese learners. In this paper, Ⅰ investigated the acquisition of Sino-Japanese verbs by Chinese speakers, focusing on unaccusative verbs, using a grammaticality judgment task. Results showed that there were two types of unaccusative verbs: ones for which sareru forms are accepted at a relatively high rate and ones for which sareru forms are rarely accepted. The former can be regarded as a case of the ‘unaccusative trap’. I further collected data from more advanced Chinese learners and conducted follow-up interviews with them. Results indicate that the sareru form tends to be accepted when an ‘external force’ can be felt in the realization of the event.
