要旨

The distribution of acid phosphatase in normal major salivary glands were investigated histochemically using azo dye coupling method as refered to the techniques of GROGG PEARSE, BURSTON etc. The examination was performed in various kinds of animals, such as mice, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits and dogs, and the results were compared with those of alkaline phosphatase reaction.1. The distribution and intensity of acid phosphatase reaction in the salivary glands were different in different animals as in the case of alkaline phosphatase.2. The acid phosphatase was found more distinctly in the cytoplasm of acinar cells, whereas the alkaline phosphatase was more strongly demonstrated in the basal part of the acini cells as well as in blood capillaries surrounding them.3. The acid phosphatase reaction was in the cells of the striated portion of the duct stronger positive than in the acini cells, especially in the submandibular gland of rat and the parotid gland of some animals.
