波照間島方言のアクセント体系

要旨

This paper attempts to show that the Japanese dialects in Haterumajima are tone-languages which have 2 types of pitch-pattern on their prosodical unit and are not pitch-accent languages like the Tokyo-dialect as they have been generally regarded. We can find out the same fact on the dialect of Shiraho hamlet in Ishigakijima-the hamlet known to have been settled by a forced immigration from Haterumajima in the 18th century.
